Welcome!
A Message from the President
of the
Children’s Organ Transplant Association
One Million Miracles. This is my dream for the more than 1,100 transplant patients the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) has served in more than 20 years of services to families; and for the thousands of families COTA will serve in the future. In an effort to see this dream become reality, I am pleased to announce a new COTA Saturday challenge:
Collect One Million Pennies and
Provide One Million Miracles.
But what is COTA? Perhaps in your city COTA is a church group that has come together to help a member who is facing death. Perhaps for your town COTA is a school where the faculty and students are working together to make sure one of their students gets a second chance at life. Or perhaps your community has yet to be struck by the tragedy of a family who can’t pay for their child’s transplant.
During the past 20 years COTA has become the premier organization providing fundraising assistance to families facing a life-saving transplant. Families from every corner of this country, representing every ethnic, economic and social background, have worked with COTA. Since 1986, more than 10,000 concerned people have donated their time to help COTA patients and more than 50,000 generous people have made gifts to help our families meet their financial needs.
Your involvement in COTA Saturday can make miracles happen.
The United States Mint estimates there are more than $140 billion in pennies in circulation today. Most of them sit in jars on top of dressers, under car mats, behind couch cushions, or in piggy banks. COTA’s One Million Miracles penny drive can turn those pennies into a second chance at life for a child who needs a life-saving transplant. YOU can make a difference.
Every penny raised by a local COTA fundraising campaign goes toward a family’s transplant-related expenses. I encourage you to register today.
COTA kids need you.
Sincerely,

Rick Lofgren, CFRE
COTA President
